Christmas 2014 gift guide for cyclists
Just like last year, I want to advice you with stuff your cycling friends would probably like to see wrapped up in Xmas paper this year. Remember to check the delivery dates before ordering!
#1 CYCLING GIFT THIS YEAR: FINCYCLING TEAM KIT
First bought this kit during summer. I had always ridden Assos top end bibs and was amazed by the Sportful comfort. The Sportful bibs really were more comfortable than the Assos ones I've been relying on for years. This kit is both unique and is of same quality that is used by the pro tour team Tinkoff-Saxo. The best pair of bibs I've ever ridden, comfortable even in mountains and on longer rides. The thing with the Fincycling kit is that not only do you support Finnish junior cycling, but you also get a 300 € kit for 128 €. That my friends I call bargain! Hurry, there aren't many left in the store! Order the Fincycling team kit here!
#2 Strava Premium membership
The perfect gift for any cyclist! Inspiration, motivation, competing with other cyclists on your daily rides. The best feature in the feature is that you are able to follow you fitness and performance boost, or in worst case decline. That is motivation for any competitive cyclist. The cost is 59$/year, not that bad. Also a more and more know phrase among cyclists today is; if it's not on Strava it didn't happen. Read more and order the premium membership here.
#3 Any gabba or weatherproof clothing from Castelli
Especially living in northern hemisphere where it is important to protect yourself against weather the Castelli Gabba line is the best I've ever experienced. Waterproof, breathable, technical you name it. I've used the Gabba vest together with nanoflex warmers, and that combo keeps me both dry and warm to almost 0 degrees Celsius. That's performance! Check the Castelli product line here.
#4 Garmin Vivofit
This neat little thing is the perfect gift to Garmin device users. This will add the missing pieces to the dashboard on Garmin Connect. The battery will last for a year, it keeps track of your movement, heart rate, sleep, steps and calories. All needed to get the complete picture of you as a cyclist. Read more and order the Vivofit here.
#5 Garmin Vector pedals
If you aren't measuring your power, you should start doing it. At least if you really want to know your progress as a cyclist. The Garmin Vector pedals offer the greatness of both left and right power with various measures as pedal smoothness, torque and loads more. The best part is that it's really easy to switch these pedals between bikes. So whether you're riding on your MTB, Roadbike, Cyclocross you can measure your power with the same set of pedals. Highly recommend this product. You can buy it on Resistentia for a good price.
#6 Craft Cool Mesh base layer
This base layer keeps you dry and cool during hot rides or during trainer rides indoors. A proper base layer really adds comfort on your rides, and you know it when you've used a good base layer once. And you can never have too many of these I guess. Get yours here!
#7 Cyclepassion calendar
This is a nice calendar for any male or female cyclist. The cycling theme is the most important in this calendar and you can get one for less than 40 €. Get your calendar here.
#9 Craft active crewneck
This is the perfect thing for cold winter rides. It'll keep you dry and warm and is probably one of the the most important layers when you dress up against cold. Buy one here.
#10 Castelli rosso corsa 6 cycling socks
A good pair of socks, you just never have enough of them. Black or white, that's up to you! Get your's here.
#11 Interest
Give your cycling friend a good gift for free. Next time he or she talks about cycling, listen, comment, suggest, ask questions and act as if you would be interested. If possible, do this the year around!
I hope you found this list useful. Have a nice weekend!
