Weekend without racing was a weekend well spent
Yet another weekend behind, a weekend without racing this time. It was a weekend introducing riding in shorties and the first long ride for the year. A long ride means more than 5 hours in the saddle, at least that's what I read, so first one of those this year. Some great weather and first real tan-lines for the seasons are reality.
On Friday night we had time to finally sit down and enjoy our new view.
On Saturday I took a rest-day and we went to watch the Quidam by Cirque du Soleil. Was really amazing to watch what a human body is capable of. In cycling you always talk about being in control of your body and being balanced on the bike. I would be glad to have a percent of the control, strength and balance those artists have.
On Sunday I made the first 5h+ ride for the season. We will be riding the 217 km Pirkan Pyöräily in just a couple of weeks so I need to get my body prepared for longer rides before that. The weather was yet again really windy, but the sun was out and I really enjoyed almost every minute of that ride. Especially being out in the countryside I spent at one point half an hour without seeing a car or any other human beings. Just cows, horses, birds, sheep and butterflies.
I will leave you with this view and wish you all a great week, enjoy what's left of May!
